We are grateful to receive the the 2021 Today’s Caregiver Friendly Award for the Handbook of Home Health Standards: Quality, Documentation, and Reimbursement
The Handbook of Home Health Standards: Quality, Documentation, and Reimbursement has been awarded a 2021 Caregiver Friendly® award in the Book category.
This universally used Handbook provides Medicare and other care standards needed for clinicians to help family caregivers to provide person-centered care. Based on patient body systems there are “Caregiver Considerations” in each of the Care Guidelines for easy reference. For example, in the “Older Adult Care” section, there 10 caregiver-specific questions to help clinicians and families. This includes “ID the caregiver who will be a part of the patient’s care team…” “Is respite available for primary caregivers?”, Teach the caregiver the top 3-5 most important aspects of care from a safety perspective…” and more.
In this way this edition of the Handbook of Home Health Standards (6th edition) integrates the important family/friend caregivers into care and care planning processes. This edition was designed to recognize and assist family/friend caregiving and caregivers as the most important source from a history and other perspectives. Who knows their loved the best? Marrelli is also the author of a Guide for Caregiving: What’s Next? Planning for Safety, Quality, and Compassionate Care for Your Loved One and Yourself. As a nurse, Marrelli provides information to make the complex understandable. This “red book” celebrates and values the caregiver contributions to what the best care can be.
About The Caregiver Friendly Awards:
The Caregiver Friendly® Awards are presented by Today’s Caregiver magazine to celebrate outstanding books, media, products and services which have been designed with the best interest of the caregiver and his or her loved one in mind. Today’s Caregiver magazine and https://caregiver.com, launched in 1995, are published by Caregiver Media Group, which also produces the Fearless Caregiver Conferences.
“The average caregiver is responsible for over $40,000 in health related expenditures each year, in either personal or directed funds” says Gary Barg, Today’s Caregiver magazine’s Editor-in-Chief. “This award is designed to help family caregivers recognize and reward those organizations who will care for them in as committed a manner as they care for their loved ones. This award signifies that you and your organization understand the value of supporting family caregivers and have created something that not only helps a caregiver care for their loved ones but also improves his or her quality of life in the process. On behalf of caregivers everywhere, please accept our sincere appreciation for your quality work and congratulations on receiving a Today’s Caregiver Magazine’s 2021 Caregiver Friendly® award.”
